Role
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior SQA Engineer interested in joining a dynamic, cross-functional Agile team. The candidate must be proficient in Quality Assurance practices, work independently, and collaborate with individuals outside of SQA with varying technical knowledge.

The Senior SQA Engineer is the lead QA representative for a 5-9 person Agile Scrum team charged with delivering the Choicelinx suite of software. This individual's main responsibility will be to lead the test efforts undertaken by the development team, to ensure the appropriate depth and breadth of testing is performed at the time of construction. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for performing standard activities such as test planning, independent validation, documenting of typical QA artifacts, reporting and managing defects, developing automation solutions as needed, and ensuring quality initiatives are followed.

Activities
Analyze the breadth and depth of test coverage performed by developers and identify gaps and solutions
Collaborate with developers to determine the acceptable distribution between unit, component, and integration test validation
Collaborate with developers to determine the level of developer-performed testing, joint developer and QA-performed testing, and independent QA testing
Create and execute test plans, cases, and scripts
Author standard QA artifacts such as defects, enhancements, RTM's, decision matrices, test summaries, and release notes
Define, estimate, track, and report test progress for development and quality assurance test efforts
Manage the team defect list and facilitate triage of items reported
Report accurate and timely test status of projects/releases/builds
Perform data and GUI testing of the Choicelinx products and processes
Perform UI testing of an HTML web-based application suite
Perform cross-browser testing for all supported browsers
Identify web-specific defects such as javascript errors and HTML / CSS layout issues
Perform testing of service-based components such as windows and web services
Design and write complex SQL queries to perform manual and automated data-level testing
Seek out opportunities and implement efficiencies with tools and automation solutions
Escalate critical issues at the appropriate time, and help identify solutions and mitigation options
Work with the Production Support team to manage the correction of defects reported from production

Qualifications:

years hands-on testing experience within the Quality Assurance discipline
Ideally International Software Testing Qualifications Board certified
2
years within a role successfully leading a team of experienced and non-experienced testers
Highly organized and capable or guiding and coordinating test efforts of small teams according to risk, resources, priority, and schedule
Experience with querying large data sets
Senior-level GUI tester for web-based HTML / CSS applications
Working experience with SQL Server Management Studio 2012:
Advanced SQL query skills
Senior-level knowledge of the QA discipline:
Ability to estimate testing effort and communicate multiple testing options
Ability to write test strategies for complex projects or initiatives
Ability to develop test cases involving complex GUI, web service, or SQL validation
Extensive experience with traceability between requirements, test cases, and test results
Strong ability to identify testing or requirement gaps or complications
Ability to lead defect triage meetings
Able to identify areas for testing process improvement and implement them on individual projects, with an eye on inter-project usability across the SQA team
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to speak/present information to mid-size teams
Prior experience working in a test-driven development environment preferred
Prior experience working in an Agile team preferredEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
